Elsie & Fleur

British confectioner, Thomas Smith visited France in the 1840s and saw bonbons wrapped in twists of waxed paper and decided to do something similar with a double wrapping and a love motto. Two years later after kicking a log on the fire causing it spark he was inspired to include a strip of saltpetre to make the bang.
