Checks are still very trendy this year, in both fashion and homewares, having had a revival in 2013.
One of the most popular checked materials is gingham, which has been around for hundreds of years.
The material first appeared in Europe in the 1600s. At the beginning it was striped and then it developed into a check when it was produced in mills in Manchester.
Now it’s considered vintage and retro but also homely, and it has crossed over into household items.
Here are a few of our favourite check products, with checks both large and small:
Blue check pattern glass earrings and pendant set - £29.95
Pink check fabric teddy - £22
Home sweet home fabric heart - £12
