Beauty products from Broomfield
A producer of lavender-based beauty products made in Broomfield near Bridgwater has this month (August, 2016) been signed up by us.
Kerstin Sharpe is joining some of the region’s top crafters, illustrators, artists, producers and makers to show off her items on our website.
Kerstin, who creates hair and body products, said: “I’m thrilled to be joining the Elsie & Fleur website. It’s a fantastic opportunity to get my products out there and I am among some great Westcountry crafters too.”
The range of products made by Kerstin includes shampoo, conditioner, moisturisers and bath oils.
Kerstin had been exploring the idea of using lavender in products before taking the plunge in 2013.
She decided to plant Grosso, Hidcote and Munstead lavender varieties on her farm at Westleigh, which backs onto Broomfield Common.
All of the products are made with ethically sourced and environmentally-friendly ingredients.
Lavender has been in documented use for more than 2,500 years. In ancient times, lavender was used for mummification and perfume by the Egyptians, Phoenicians and Arabians.
It has antiseptic properties and is very mild on the skin.
