Elsie & Fleur

We asked our maker, Louise Waghorn for some of her top tips on adding texture to a room.

Louise said: “Many people tend to overlook adding texture to a room when they are re-decorating but it is just as important as colour and pattern when creating interest.

“One of the easiest ways to add texture is by using textiles. For example, cushions in a variety of different fabrics or quilts, tapestries and tablecloths.

“Incorporating weathered wooden items or plants are great for bringing a more natural textural element to a room too.

“Woven baskets or boxes serve two purposes as they are great for storage, while also adding texture. And darker coloured baskets placed on light coloured shelving contrast really well, adding more interest to the room.”
