Elsie & Fleur

PEOPLE in Somerset are invited to support a charity in the county and purchase a bag for life before the plastic bag charge comes in to force on October 5, 2015.

Online retailer Elsie & Fleur based in Bridgwater is stocking the bibic bag for life. Proceeds from the sale of each bag will be donated to the children’s charity based in Langport.

Rachel Doran, founder of online boutique www.elsieandfleur.co.uk, explained: “Carrier bag charges begin in England on October 5 as part of the policy to reduce waste. Large retailers will charge 5p for most single-use plastic carrier bags. We are encouraging people to support bibic and purchase one of its sturdy hessian bags from our website.

“The bibic bag for life is perfect for carrying shopping, welly boots or even recycling. A multipurpose bag for life. It has an iconic floral themed Union flag on both sides, which was designed by Rachel Skeet, who is a former student of Somerset College of Arts and Technology.”

The charity’s branding features on both ends of the bag and they were sponsored by First Edition Restaurant/Wine Bar located at Canary Wharf, London.
